    Established by a small group in Kilifi

    Established in 2004 by a small group of people living in Kilifi, Kesho Kenya has been at the forefront of transforming lives and communities through education and empowerment initiatives. Our journey began with a vision to break the cycle of poverty and inequality by providing marginalized children and youth in Kenya with access to quality education.

  • 2008

    Kesho Kenya first obtained Community Based Organisation (CBO) registration

    Our inception marked the beginning of a mission to break the chains of poverty and inequity by affording marginalized children and youth in Kenya access to quality education.

  • 2016

    Kesho Kenya transitions to Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status in 2016

    Kesho Kenya underwent a significant transformation by transitioning from a Community-Based Organization (CBO) to a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). This transition marked a pivotal moment in the organization's evolution, symbolizing its growth and expanding reach. By formalizing its status as an NGO, Kesho Kenya was able to enhance its capacity to implement sustainable development programs and initiatives, further solidifying its commitment to serving marginalized communities and promoting access to quality education. This move also provided Kesho Kenya with increased credibility and recognition, enabling us to attract additional resources and forge partnerships to amplify its impact.

Adopting a holistic approach Kesho Kenya beliefs in integrating education transformation, health, and social development into children’s and underserved populations’ wellbeing.
